Clara Mae Higgins Henderson

Mrs. Clara Mae Higgins Henderson, age 91, of Waverly, TN passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Humphreys County Nursing Home. She was born on September 18, 1934, in McEwen, TN to George William and Annie Pearl Higgins. Mrs. Clara was a lifelong, devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was famous in her community for her homemade sourdough bread and her beautiful quilts. She spent her lifetime gathering her large family around her table and passing down stories of early life in rural Tennessee.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Woods Funeral Home, 10487 Bold Springs Rd, McEwen, Tennessee. Father Vimal Backiyaraj will deliver the eulogy.

Interment will follow the service at Rogers Cemetery, McEwen, Tennessee.
